A great educational quality stethoscope that will be a real asset to any human anatomy study. A stethoscope is used for auscultation (listening to sounds within the body). Stethoscopes are most commonly used to measure blood pressure and to hear the sounds produced by the heart and lungs. This Bowles Stethoscope is comprised of a chest piece, a diaphragm, bell, and stem, sturdy tubing, and ear tubes and ear tips on the earpiece.
This acoustic stethoscope features a diaphragm (larger, flat disc) and bell (hollow cup). The diaphragm transmits higher frequency sounds, like breathing and heartbeat, while the bell transmits low frequency sounds.
