We bought two and one has already been cut into six smaller electrodes to make a battery by linking a series of lemons. The zinc cuts easily with snips or strong scissors. Plenty of material so we expect they will allow for numerous electrolysis experiments. Also the price was better than anything else we found.
It works for whatever you need it for. I use the zinc from zinc-carbon batteries as it is more cost-effective, but there is usually corrosion which can contaminate.
I was very happy to find that this website offered the zinc strips I was looking for and at a very reasonable price. I expected the strips to be very thin and possibly flexible, but I was surprised to find that the strips are pretty firm and durable.
