Glass & Plastic Test Tubes, all Sizes
Shop for borosilicate & polystyrene test tubes for chemistry, science projects & DIY
High-quality glass test tubes make for an excellent addition to any labware collection! They are made of borosilicate glass that's similar to Pyrex or Kimax, and they have clear marking spots for your lab labeling needs. Compared to clear plastic (polystyrene) test tubes, glass culture tubes / sample tubes have greater chemical resistance and can be heated directly in an open flame.
Choose from sizes small to extra-large in these round bottom borosilicate test tubes with beaded rims. Compared to rimless test tubes, beaded rims add strength and assist in handling.
- The small test tubes are 100 mm tall x 13 mm with 11 mm inside diameter. Volume is approximately 9 mL. Use with No. 00 rubber stoppers or No. 2 cork stoppers.
- The large test tubes are 150 mm tall x 16 mm with 14 mm inside diameter. Approximate volume is 22 mL. Use with No. 0 rubber stoppers or No. 4 cork stoppers. This size is the best for general use.
- The extra-large test tubes are 150 mm tall x 20 mm with 17 mm inside diameter and approximately 28 mL volume. Use with No. 1 rubber stoppers.
Plus find other complementary equipment and accessories for your laboratory experiments and science projects. Shop wooden or plastic test tube racks (stands), culture tubes, metal clamps, cleaning brushes, and more.
A chemistry lab test tube is ideal for working with small quantities of a liquid. (For example, testing how much vitamin C is in different types of juice.)
Test tubes are general-purpose lab glassware and even make fun party favors or stocking stuffers! Need rubber stoppers to fill the ends? Go to our stoppers page. We offer high-quality, affordable items for all your science needs!
