Shipping

Getting your science order on time is important to you and to us! Rest assured, we do absolutely everything possible to ship and deliver your order on time. To accomplish this. we partner with two of the best carriers in the business: UPS and the US Postal Service.

  • Economy Shipping is $7.95 for most orders*
  • Economy Shipping is FREE for orders greater than $100 with code 100FREESHIP
  • All other shipping options are available at discounted carrier weight-based charges.
  • Click Shipping Estimate in your cart to see delivery options and costs.
  • Only shipping methods applicable to your order and shipping address will be listed during checkout.
  • UPS Air orders placed by 2:00 pm Mountain Time ship the same day. All other orders typically ship the next business day.
  • Your order ships from Billings, Montana, except for the few drop ship items we offer.

Backorders

Except for UPS Next Day, UPS 2 Day or UPS 3 Day services, we may hold orders for up to 7 days if out-of-stock items are expected within that time. Otherwise, all in-stock items are shipped promptly, and backordered items will be shipped separately by the least expensive shipping method when they are available. We usually ship backordered items within three weeks. You may cancel backorders any time up to the shipment date.

Shipping Restrictions

*Restricted chemicals, kits containing these chemicals, and very large items like telescopes are excluded from our special Economy Shipping option. Shipping restrictions are clearly noted on each product page.

United States

The following shipping methods are available in the United States. Shipping method availability is determined by your cart’s content (including product restrictions) and shipping address.

Economy Shipping ($7.95)

  • Delivery: Arrives approximately 8-12 days from today.
  • We ship the least expensive method with UPS or US Postal Service.
  • Available to the 48 contiguous US states. A street address is required.
  • Some large or drop shipped products are excluded.
  • Tracking may be limited for this option and estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
  • Economy Shipping is FREE for orders greater than $100 with code 100FREESHIP

UPS SurePost

  • Delivery: Arrives approximately 7-10 days from today.
  • Available to all 50 US states and Puerto Rico. A street address is required.
  • May be delivered to your door by US Postal Service.
  • Tracking may be limited for this option and estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.

UPS Ground Service

  • Delivery: 1-6 business days per the shipping map.
  • Rural addresses add one day to the time listed on the map.
  • Available to all 50 US states and Puerto Rico. A street address is required.
  • Complete tracking is included, but estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
  • Now includes Saturday delivery!

UPS 3 Day

  • Delivery: 3 business days.
  • Rural addresses add one additional day.
  • Available to the 48 contiguous US states. A street address is required.
  • Complete tracking, but estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
  • Regrettably, we cannot refund shipping costs for package delays caused by weather or mechanical failure.

UPS 2 Day Air

  • Delivery: 2 business days.
  • Rural addresses and Puerto Rico add one additional day.
  • Available to all 50 US states and Puerto Rico. A street address is required.
  • Highly reliable with complete tracking, but estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
  • Regrettably, we cannot refund shipping costs for package delays caused by weather or mechanical failure.

UPS Next Day Saver

  • Delivery Time: 1 business day.
  • Usually delivers by 5 pm.
  • Available to all 50 US states and Puerto Rico. A street address is required.
  • Highly reliable with complete tracking and guaranteed delivery times.
  • Regrettably, we cannot refund shipping costs for package delays caused by weather or mechanical failure.

UPS Next Day Air

  • Delivery: 1 business day.
  • Usually delivers by 12 pm, end of day for rural addresses.
  • Available to the 48 contiguous US states. A street address is required.
  • Highly reliable with complete tracking and guaranteed delivery times.
  • Regrettably, we cannot refund shipping costs for package delays caused by weather or mechanical failure.

USPS Priority/First Class Mail

  • Delivery: Arrives approximately 3-5 days from today.
  • Available to all 50 US states, Puerto Rico, and PO boxes.
  • Many of our products are restricted from shipping USPS.
  • Tracking may be limited for this option and estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.

Canada

The following shipping methods are available to Canada depending on the shipping restrictions of items in your cart and your shipping address. Many items like hazardous chemicals, living materials, certain preserved specimens, and drop shipped items cannot be shipped outside the US. You will only see applicable shipping options during checkout.

UPS International Mail

  • Delivery: Arrives approximately 2-3 weeks from today.
  • Availability: Street addresses and P.O. Boxes for all provinces and territories.
  • Many of our products are restricted from shipping to Canada.
  • Tracking may be limited for this option and estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
  • Duties and Tariffs are not calculated or collected by Home Science Tools and are the responsibility of the customer on delivery.

UPS Standard, Worldwide Expedited, Worldwide Saver

  • Delivery: 1-5 business days per information at checkout.
  • A street address is required.
  • Complete tracking and guaranteed delivery times.
  • Customs fees and duties are included in the price of shipping.

International Shipping
