Warranties are managed by the supplier who provides them. If your product is covered under a warranty, you should have received warranty information along with the product. Use that information to contact the supplier directly. To request warranty work complete the Warranty Form and follow the instructions provided.

Home Science Tools Lifetime Microscope Warranty

Home Science Tools warrants this microscope to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the life of the instrument. This warranty does not cover light bulbs, batteries, or damage due to misuse, abuse, alterations, or accident. Warranty does not cover lenses that have become inoperable due to excessive dirtiness as a result of misuse or lack of normal maintenance.

Any cameras and software supplied with this microscope are warranted for one year from the date of purchase.

You will need to return your microscope, at your own expense, for warranty service to Home Science Tools, or the repair facility we designate. We will repair or replace your microscope at no charge and return it to you (at our expense). Please call 406-256-0990 to arrange warranty service before returning this instrument.

Please note that warranties apply only to the original purchaser and are not transferable.

Home Science Tools brand microscopes sold prior to July 1, 2009 had a five year warranty. To request warranty work complete the Warranty Form and follow the instructions provided.


Home Science Tools Limited Warranty

Home Science Tools warrants this instrument against defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period from the date of purchase. The warranty period is as follows:

  • Kids Microscopes - 5 years
  • Mechanical balances - 5 years
  • Microscope digital cameras - 1 year
  • Other Home Science Tools Branded products - 1 year

This warranty does not cover parts that wear through normal use including bulbs, batteries, and belts or damage due to misuse, abuse, alterations, or accident. You will need to return your product freight prepaid for warranty service to Home Science Tools, or the repair facility we designate. We will repair or replace your product at no charge and return it freight prepaid to you. Please call 406-256-0990 to arrange warranty service before returning a product.

National Optical Limited Lifetime Warranty

For all our National Optical microscopes, the lifetime warranty information is as follows:

National warrants this microscope to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the life of the instrument. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from abuse or misuse, repairs or alterations performed by other than authorized repair technicians, or damage occurring in transit. The warranty does not cover bulbs, power supplies, recharger, batteries, fuses, cords, or add-on accessories such as mechanical specimen holders that are not built into the microscope stage as an integral part of original manufacture. Warranty does not cover lenses that have become inoperable due to excessive dirtiness as a result of misuse or lack of normal maintenance.

Any cameras and software supplied with this microscope are warranted from date of purchase as follows: Cameras, 1-year limited warranty. Software, 90-day limited warranty.

Other than set forth above, National hereby disclaims all warranties, express or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose.

While it is not necessary to register your purchase of a microscope, any camera or software must be registered by completing and mailing the warranty registration card enclosed with such product.

For warranty service, instrument should be well packed to avoid damage in transit, accompanied by a description of the difficulty and return instructions, and shipped postage prepaid to National at the address below. National will repair or replace at no charge and return postage prepaid. For customers living outside the United States, National will provide standard warranty service. However, inbound & outbound shipping cost is the responsibility of the consumer. If failure was caused by misuse, alterations, accident or abnormal conditions of operation, an estimate for repairs will be submitted for approval prior to work being performed.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Ohaus Warranties

Ohaus 5-year Warranty

For our Ohaus mechanical balances with a 5-year warranty, the warranty information is as follows:

Ohaus products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of delivery through the duration of the warranty period. During the warranty period Ohaus will repair, or, at its option, replace any component(s) that proves to be defective at no charge, provided that the product is returned, freight prepaid, to Ohaus.

This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident or misuse, exposed to radioactive or corrosive materials, has foreign material penetrating to the inside of the product or as a result of service or modification by other than Ohaus. In lieu of a properly returned warranty registration card, the warranty period shall begin on the date of shipment to the authorized dealer. No other express or implied warranty is given by Ohaus Corporation. Ohaus Corporation shall not be liable for any consequential damages. As warranty legislation differs from state to state and country to country, please contact Ohaus or your local Ohaus dealer for further details.

Ohaus One-year Warranty

For our Ohaus digital balances with a one-year warranty, the warranty information is as follows:

Ohaus compact scales are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery. During the warranty period Ohaus will repair, or at its option, replace any component(s) that proves to be defective at no charge, provided that the product is returned, freight prepaid, to Ohaus.

This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident or misuse, exposed to radioactive or corrosive materials, has foreign material penetrating to the inside of the product, or as a result of service or modification by other than Ohaus. In lieu of a properly returned warranty registration card, the warranty period shall begin on the date of shipment to the authorized dealer. Swift Optical Limited Lifetime Warranty

The Swift Optical Instruments, Inc. Limited Lifetime Warranty assures that the microscope is guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product. Electrical components are covered for three years; video components are covered for one year after purchase. Normal wear, routine maintenance, light bulbs, power supplies, rechargers, batteries, fuses, cords, add-on accessories, damage resulting from repair by unauthorized parties, accident, alteration, shipping, misuse or abuse is not covered. Warranty service is provided by Swift Optical Instruments, Inc.'s authorized technicians. Determination of warranty is at the technician's discretion.

Other than set forth above, Swift hereby disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose.
