I tried electroplating a coin but I think I didn't let the crystals dissolve enough so I not only plated the coin but also made a strange black thing appear in the copper sulfate solution.
It was a nice small amount to be able to buy for a flame test I was doing for my class. I had to grind up the crystals myself, but the flame was a lovely green, so I am very pleased to have this on hand.
We needed Cupric sulfate for our first science fair project (growing algae). The amount was perfect, but did need some creative crushing. We dumped the crystals into sandwich bags, wrapped them in a dish towel, and beat them with a rolling pin. Ordering was easy and shipping quick. Can't wait to see the catalog.
