Instant Light Powder Kit

In this demonstration, students get to observe a chemiluminescence reaction. Combine instant light powder and water in a beaker and watch in amazement as blue light glows! This demonstration furthers students' understanding of chemiluminescence and kinetics. There is enough instant light powder to perform five demonstrations.

Observe how luminol is converted to an excited state in the presence of an oxidizer, such as hydrogen peroxide. As the excited state molecule decays (or returns to the ground state), energy is produced as light.
