Day 'N' Night Ant Factory

The GeoSafari Day 'N' Night Ant Factory from Educational Insights isn't your typical ant farm. Instead of sand, the habitat uses a unique nutrient gel based on a NASA experiment testing ants' ability to tunnel in microgravity.

With this kit, you can watch ants up close as they chew their way through the see-through gel, creating fascinating tunnel designs. All you need to do is add ants! Either catch your own or order some using the included coupon to get a vial of Pogonomyrmex occidentallis, also known as harvester ants. Once set up, it's a self-contained ant farm that provides hours of educational fun.

This kit includes a Day 'N' Night Ant Factory with nutrient gel, a tunnel starter tool, a guide, and ant certificate. The nutrient gel provides food and water, making this a complete easy-to-care-for habitat that intrigues all ages. The clear acrylic habitat is 9" wide x 8" tall x 3.5" deep and includes three built-in magnification spots. You supply 3 AA batteries.
