Eye Spy

Open your eyes to the unique traits that make species perfectly suited to survive in their habitats.  Eye Spy will allow your student to uncover species traits and organism survival. This kit allows your student to study the structure and function of traits, and determine how they are useful for organism survival.

Eye Spy is an Accelerate level kit that includes a full-color student workbook and a detailed teacher guide, with step-by-step instructions for both hands-on and reading-based activities designed to engage students in organism survival. Both teacher and student will be able to open the box and start within minutes, and the kit will provide over 9 hours of engaging learning.

In this kit, the student will partake in these hands-on learning activities:

1. Look deep into the eyes of many organisms.
2. Dissect a sheep eye.
3. Model an animal eye and compare it to the real thing.
4. Compare specimens to determine each organism’s environment.
5. Test out the importance of a backbone in larger animals.

Use Eye Spy to answer questions such as:

• How are organisms suited to their environment?
• What are the structure organisms have?
• Are traits passed from parent to offspring?
• Which traits are passed from parent to offspring?
• What structures does an eye have?

The Eye Spy biology curriculum kit is a part of the Science Unlocked Accelerate series and is recommended for elementary and middle school students in grades 5-7.
