From Here to There

Use simple machines to get the objects you need! From Here to There will help any young engineer build and test simple machines to transfer objects from one location to another.

In this kit, students will build and test a marble ramp, zipline, pulley, and two types of claws to determine which works best for moving different objects. Students will use these hands-on science experiments to delve into the engineering and technology of different simple machines. From Here to There comes with a full-color Student Workbook and Teacher Guide. This kit contains activities and information that focuses on the phenomenon of a marble ramp and the technology of simple machines used to move objects.

As part of a special program from Home Science Tools, this Wonder level kit will provide over 6 hours of knowledge, educating your student about simple machines and how they are used by humans! 

In this kit, the student will engage in these fun activities:

1. Use a ramp to move a marble.
2. Build and test a zipline.
3. Move an object up with a pulley.
4. Try out two claw types to see which works best.
5. Design and test a simple machine of your own design.

• 2 Pieces of cardstock
• 1 Chenille stem
• 2 Foam cups
• 2 Paper cups
• 4 Plastic cups
• 1 Dowel
• 2 Fishing line
• 1 Marble
• 1 Masking tape
• 1 Paperclip
• 1 Rubber band
• 1 Spool
• 1 Straw
• 1 Tape measure
• 10 Tongue depressors
