DESCRIPTION

Our 1.0 volt solar cell module comes complete with attached wires and encapsulated in a clear plastic case for durability. This very efficient photovoltaic solar cell is ready to use with no soldering necessary. It is perfect for a variety of science and hobby projects.

One of these solar cells will power our DC motors or 1.5-volt bulbs. You can use multiple solar cells in parallel or in series to increase amperage or voltage as needed to power almost any DC electrical device. This solar cell produces 0.5 watt of power output at 500 mA and 1.0 volt. The size of the solar cell is approximately 6cm x 9cm.

One of the most common ways of harnessing the sun's energy is by using solar cells, also known as photovoltaic (PV) cells. Photovoltaic solar cells absorb particles of light (photons), which are transferred to a semi-conductor in the cell to produce a flow of electricity.
