Star and Planet Locator

The Star and Planet Locator shows the position of over 200 stars and 8 planets throughout the year. You can find the stars and planets in your sky on any night from your location around the world. The field of view rotates for any hour, day, month, or year, so you can use it no matter when and where you are on Earth.

You can use this in or with an astronomy science fair project to answer the following questions:

• What stars can I see in my area on a clear night?
• Do temperature or humidity seem to have any affect?
• How do the stars I see at a given time compare in a city vs. the country?
• What would a star map specific to my area look like?
