DESCRIPTION

This rock collection is a student identification pack designed to complement the Washington School Collection, although it's also great to test your rock identification skills with. It contains unlabeled 1" or smaller chips of the same 40 specimens as the School collection so students can study, test, and identify them.

Specimens include igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks, rock-forming minerals, ore forming minerals, and industrial minerals packed in a plastic bag. Order one per student or student team. It can also be used for independent study. Although no key is provided, the rocks and minerals included are listed below. Identify them using a rock guidebook.

Note: This kit contains galena, a source of lead. Skin contact with galena is not dangerous; however, to avoid potential digestion, always wash hands after handling.
