    What People Are Saying

    For medium insects

  • No. 2 pins are perfect for small to medium sized insects, the black enamel makes them nearly invisible when the insects are dried. Along with No. 0 or No. 000 they are really all the pins that are needed for any insect collector.
    Great for many uses!

  • We use them mainly for displaying our insect specimens; however, you can always use them as dissecting pins too.
    Good product, good price.

  • I'm an amateur, but I wanted quality pins and these are the real deal at a decent price. I've got a lot of pinning to do!

Insect pins (entomological), size 2, black enamel

Kostal professional-grade insect pins are excellent quality. They are made from tempered spring steel with fine sharp points, smooth black enamel finish, and durable nylon heads. These size #2 insect pins are 38 mm long by 0.45 mm diameter and are ideal for general insect and butterfly pinning. Approximately 100 insect pins per pack. Made in Czech Republic.

For highest quality, order Bohemia steel insect pins. For a more inexpensive option, we recommend our student insect pins.

To pin an insect, firmly poke the pin through the upper mid-right of the back of the thorax (on insects such as grasshoppers) or abdomen (on beetles). Number 4 pins are recommended for insects with thick bodies.
